Creighton University’s Professional Science Masters Program Co-Hosts “CU at Lunch Series” with Bio Nebraska

Creighton University is pleased to announce its new CU for Lunch series on Current Issues in the Biosciences. Co-sponsored by Bio Nebraska, this quarterly series will feature nationally known speakers on current topics in the biosciences and will introduce Bio Nebraska members and guests to Creighton’s new Professional Science Masters Degree program in Bioscience Management.

The first speaker for the series is Dr. Mark Ahn, professor and chair of science and technology entrepreneurship at Victoria University of Wellington. Prior to entering academia, Dr. Ahn was founder and CEO of Hana Biosciences, and he also has held management positions at Genentech, Amgen, and Bristol-Myers Squibb. He currently serves as Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board of Zygem and is on the Advisory Boards of several biotechnology startups. Dr. Ahn holds a Ph.D. in molecular biology from Northwestern University and an M.D. from Osaka University. He will be teaching the first course in the new PSM program curriculum, Current Issues in the Biosciences, the weekends of June 19 and 26. A limited number of spaces are available for non-Bio Nebraska members, so please contact Dr. Anne York at 402-280-2440, Amy Recker at 402-829-9011, or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Creighton’s new Professional Science Masters degree program in Bioscience Management, which the Sloan Foundation and the National Council of Graduate Schools calls an “MBA for Scientists,” is a 15-month, executive style weekend program which combines bioscience, business and law. One of the first of its kind in the U.S. and unique to the Midwest, all courses in the program are custom-designed for those currently in or seeking careers in a variety of bioscience business contexts, including pharma, research lab management, technology transfer and commercialization, health care, clinical trials and regulation, bioinfomatics, biomedical devices, and biofuels.
