Omaha Science Cafés are at The Slowdown, 729 N 14th Street in Omaha. Science Cafés involve a face-to-face conversation with a scientist about current science topics.

December will feature Donald G. Klepser, Ph.D., M.B.A., and a discussion on “How Much Would You Pay for a Better Future? The Costs and Benefits of Scientific Innovation.” Dr. Klepser is an assistant professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Nebraska College of Pharmacy. He received a Ph.D. in pharmaceutical socioeconomics from the University of Iowa and master’s degree in business administration from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. His areas of interest include organizational theory, policy, pharmacoeconomics and outcomes research. His current research is in the areas of rural pharmacy access, cost containment and managed-care benefit design. Dr. Klepser has presented his research in these areas at national and international meetings and has numerous peer-reviewed publications. His teaching emphasis is in the area of healthcare management, managed care and pharmacoeconomics.
