BIO NEBRASKA ANNOUNCES ANNUAL MEETING AND GOVERNOR’S 2009 BIOSCIENCE AWARD
(February 19, 2009; Omaha, NE) – Bio Nebraska Life Sciences Association announces the inaugural Governor’s 2009 Bioscience Award to be presented by Governor Dave Heineman at the association’s Annual Meeting. The meeting will be held at the Strategic Air and Space Museum in Ashland on April 9, 2009, starting at 4:00 p.m. The Governor’s 2009 Bioscience Award recognizes an individual who has made a significant contribution to the bioscience industry in Nebraska. Any individual who positively impacts the state’s bioscience industry through innovation, public policy, investment, business creation or leadership is eligible for the award. The nominee is not required to be a member of Bio Nebraska. Nomination forms are available and are due by March 20, 2009.

We believe the commitment of dedicated individuals and resources contributes to Nebraska’s strengths in animal health, crop production, biofuels, human health and bioprocessing, and we want to publicly honor this dedication.”
Bio Nebraska announces this award during the second annual Nebraska Biosciences Week, February 16 – 20, 2009.
“Biosciences Week was established in 2008 to acknowledge the impact life sciences have on Nebraska’s economy,” stated Amy Recker, executive director for Bio Nebraska Life Sciences Association.
